Tugas 4 softskill CAUSATIVE HAVE


Definition of Causative :

·         effective or operating as a cause or agent <causative bacteria of cholera>
·         expressing causation; specifically :  being a linguistic form that indicates that the subject causes an act to be performed or a condition to come into being

Pattern  :

v  have + object + verb 3 past participle - have something done
v  have + object + infinitive - have someone do something

Examples :

Ø  They had their car repaired.
Ø  They arranged for someone to repair it.
Ø  They repaired their car.
Ø  They did it themselves.
Ø  I had my hair cut yesterday.
Ø  I went to the hairdresser
Ø  I cut my hair yesterday.
Ø  I cut it myself.
Ø  Bill had his money stolen.
Ø  I had my assistant type the report.
Ø  I'll have my lawyer look into it.
Ø  A virus was found to be the causative agent of smallpox.
